Amy Blitz

Dr. Blitz has over twenty years of research and business experience, with expertise in innovation, strategy, entrepreneurship, and economic development.

Throughout her career, she has led major research initiatives for diverse organizations, including IBM, where she was the Global Lead for Strategy at the IBM Institute for Business Value and directed a series of studies on innovation; Harvard Business School, where she developed a series of studies on entrepreneurial strategy based on interviews with leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists; Ernst & Young, where she co-authored a study on IPOs in the late 1990s that resulted in extensive new, ongoing consulting services; and a UN-affiliated NGO in the Philippines, where she helped launch a successful credit cooperative in a poor rural community.

Dr. Blitz has extensive consulting experience in areas related to strategy and thought leadership. Her work has been published as books and articles, and has been featured in Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, NPR and other leading media outlets. Her recent book, The Contested State, explores the issue of rising authoritarianism, focusing on transnational alliances and regime change in the Philippines from 1898 to the present, in a global context.
