Gina Nebesar is an entrepreneur, educator, and advocate dedicated to social innovation, advancing health and gender equity, and shaping more inclusive systems.
She co-founded Ovia Health, where as Chief Product Officer she helped scale the company to more than 20 million people and thousands of employers and health plans. Ovia pioneered digital health tools that advance maternal health equity, expand access to family benefits, and guide organizations in building workplaces centered on DEI&B, while also contributing peer-reviewed research on the lived experiences of parents and families, which inform clinical guidelines, employer policies, and public health. The company was acquired by Labcorp in 2021. Earlier in her career, Gina worked as an engineer for Northrop Grumman Space Technology before founding Automatic Apparel, a vending machine retail startup featured on The Martha Stewart Show, CNN, and USA Today.
At Babson, Gina teaches Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship with a philosophy rooted in learning by doing. She designs experiences that mirror the urgency and ambiguity of startup life, aiming to help students find their voice, lead with empathy, and pursue ventures that balance purpose and impact with sustainable growth. She is also a frequent speaker and writer, with talks at SXSW, the National Business Group on Health, and the Massachusetts Conference for Women, and op-eds in HR and benefits media that help shape the conversation on workplace equity, employee wellbeing, and the future of work for women and families.
She holds a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
