Family Entrepreneurship Intensity Track
The Family Entrepreneurship Intensity Track is a self-directed, structured pathway for MBA students who want to intentionally leverage their family's entrepreneurial legacy to chart their own path.
Designed for students from entrepreneurial families, the Intensity Track combines academic coursework with personalized leadership development to help students deepen their leadership, strengthen family relationships, and gain clarity about their future role in their family's entrepreneurship journey.
Program Requirements
To complete the Family Entrepreneurship Intensity Track, students must fulfill the following requirements:
1. Complete Two Required Courses
Foundations of Family Entrepreneurship (Graduate) – EPS 7556
Explore the dynamics, opportunities, and challenges of entrepreneurial families, including governance, succession, transgenerational value creation, family continuity, and the evolving role of the next generation.
Critical Questions Facing Business Families (Graduate) – EPS 9551
Examine the leadership and relationship challenges commonly faced by business families, including communication, trust-building, conflict management, family meetings, decision-making, and navigating changing family and business roles.
2. Complete a Leadership Development Requirement
Students must complete one of the following:
Option A: Leadership Development Sessions
- Complete two leadership development sessions through:
- Peer Sessions – Small-group discussions with fellow students from entrepreneurial families to share experiences, gain perspective, and learn from one another.
- 1:1 Coaching – Individual coaching sessions focused on personal leadership development, family relationships, and next-generation leadership challenges
- Peer Sessions – Small-group discussions with fellow students from entrepreneurial families to share experiences, gain perspective, and learn from one another.
Students may complete two Peer Sessions, two Coaching Sessions, or one of each.
Option B: Family Entrepreneurial Leadership Program
- Participate in the Family Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, a cohort-based leadership development experience designed to strengthen leadership capacity, deepen self-awareness, and build meaningful relationships with peers from entrepreneurial families.

The Intensity Track combines rigorous academic learning with personalized leadership development to help students prepare for the opportunities, responsibilities, and relationships that come with family entrepreneurship.
Students may participate in Bertarelli Institute programs, events, and activities regardless of whether they are enrolled in the Intensity Track.
