The Cutler Center has multiple strategic partnerships with educational programs and industry groups to help Babson students and alumni advance their finance careers.

Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner

Babson College is a Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner (ELP), which was developed to recognize academic institutions that integrate Bloomberg into their undergraduate and graduate curricula. The Cutler Center is equipped with 25 Bloomberg terminals that provide students and faculty with access to the data and analytical tools used by investment professionals. Students also have the opportunity to improve their skill sets and marketability through the Bloomberg Market Concepts Certification, an eight-hour self-directed program covering Equities, Fixed Income, and Currencies. 

CAIA

CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) Association Academic Partner Program   

The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® (CAIA®) is the leading global authority in alternative investments. The CAIA Academic Partnership program connects leading universities and students with the global network of alternative investment professionals. Through this collaborative relationship, institutions gain access to CAIA’s extensive resources, research, and industry connections, helping shape the next generation of investment leaders.

This partnership enriches the academic experience for both faculty and students by providing access to CAIA’s Academic Partner Program Scholarships.

BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS

  • Babson undergraduate or graduate students who the sponsoring faculty nominate can apply for scholarships that reduce the exam fee to $350 (from $1,395) for both Level I and Level II exams
  • Students can sit for the exam for any of the next three exam cycles following their scholarship award date.  
  • Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, with eight student scholarships available each calendar year.
  • This opportunity is available to current students, providing a valuable pathway to enhance their credentials and career prospects in alternative investments.

BENEFITS FOR FACULTY

  • Babson faculty members teaching CAIA-related courses can receive scholarships reducing the exam fee to $350 (from $1,395) for both Level I and Level II exams.
  • When registering for the Level I exam, the faculty member must be employed with an Academic Partnership Program (APP) Institution and teaching a minimum of six credit hours per year, including one or more CAIA-related courses.
  • Maximum of three faculty scholarships per exam cycle.

CFA Institute University Affiliation Program

At Babson College, the Bachelor of Science in Finance and the Master of Science in Finance programs have been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. These programs position students well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world.

Entry into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the Babson College curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this program, Babson College is eligible to receive a limited number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year, including:

  • 9 annual scholarships (all scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year have been allocated)
  • Access to the CFA curriculum (Levels I, II, and III)

CFA Program Awareness Scholarships are available for qualified students and faculty (who have not already registered for the exam). The scholarship waives the one-time enrollment fee ($450) and reduces the exam costs to $600.

Eligibility

Applicants must be current students at the time they submit their applications. Students can register and sit for any exam open for registration within one year from the date their award decision is made.    

Application Process

Complete the Scholarship Application on the CFA website. To access the application, click "Log-In" on the top right-hand corner of the CFA website and either log in with your account information or sign up to create a new account. Once logged in, select "View Programs." Click on "Complete the eligibility profile" by choosing the "Scholarship Opportunities" option and then click "Save my profile." Select the "CFA Program Student Scholarship" option from there and click "Apply" on the next page. In the ‘Attachments’ section of your scholarship application, please attach the following:

  1. CV/Resume
  2. Academic Transcript – an unofficial transcript will suffice 
  3. Babson CFA Scholarship Essay

CFA Society Boston University College Partner (UCP) Program  

Are you a student looking to get involved in the investment industry?

The University College Partner (UCP) Program is designed to make it easier for students across New England to engage with CFA Society Boston, build connections, and explore opportunities in the investment industry. Through the program, students will gain exposure to investment professionals who have earned their CFA charter, participate in student-focused educational programming, and connect with fellow peers.

Requirements

  • Be a junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or finance, or a related field, OR
  • Be a graduate student, enrolled full or part-time, pursuing an MBA or a master's degree in a business-related major

Application Process

  • Complete the Student Membership Application form and submit it with your most recent resume.
  • Ask a Professor of Finance, Business, or Economics to submit a signed Sponsorship Form ... AND
  • Ask one Regular member of CFA Institute, who is also a member of CFA Society Boston, to submit a signed Sponsorship Form

Mass Fintech Hub

The Cutler Center has become an academic member of the Mass Fintech Hub, a collaborative and cross-disciplinary working group of technology innovators, financial service and investment leaders, academics, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which was designed to serve as a community to help spur regional innovation leadership and the economic growth of all aspects of the fintech ecosystem in Massachusetts.

Undergraduate Women's Investment Network (UWIN)

The Undergraduate Women’s Investment Network (UWIN) program provides mentorship and internship opportunities during the school year, where participants will gain professional development and technical skills needed to succeed in the investment management industry. Each participant is matched with a Loomis Sayles mentor, and select students to participate in the internship program. The program targets students in their sophomore and junior years but welcomes students in any undergraduate year. Loomis Sayles seeks students studying at colleges and universities in the United States who are interested in investing, business, finance, accounting, data science, mathematics, or economics.

Wall Street Prep  

Wall Street Prep is a global financial training firm that specializes in courses on financial and valuation modeling and Excel for finance professionals. The self-paced learning program is available to Babson students interested in developing and strengthening their financial modeling skills and is particularly helpful for those pursuing careers in investment management, investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, and financial planning & analysis.
