Academic Division: Entrepreneurship
Alex Slawsby helps leaders and organizations tackle their most complex innovation challenges. He teaches Corporate Entrepreneurship (EPS7507), guiding students through how large enterprises can overcome structural barriers, build innovation capabilities, and leverage emerging technologies — such as generative AI — to reimagine how new businesses are created and scaled.

Over a 25-year career at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and growth, Alex has worked with companies worldwide to transform their innovation strategies, strengthen their innovation systems, and create the growth businesses of the future. He has served as Chief Growth Officer at InnoLead, where he expanded the reach of the world's largest community of corporate innovation and R&D leaders; Director of Innovation at EmbraerX, where he led venture development and new business incubation for the aerospace company; and Principal at Innosight, the disruptive innovation consultancy founded by Clayton Christensen.

As Co-Founder of Derisk, Alex develops new techniques and tools that help organizations make faster, better innovation decisions. Earlier in his career, he advised Fortune 50 firms, startups, and public-sector organizations on innovation strategy and capability building, and began his professional journey as a Senior Analyst at IDC, analyzing the evolution of the mobile device industry.
Alex holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where his thesis explored the intersection of collective intelligence and organizational innovation, and a BA in Political Science from Brown University.
