Refer a Student to CARE
Concerned about a student? We're here to help.
Babson CARES helps connect students with support when they are experiencing challenges that may be affecting their well-being, academics, or ability to succeed.
Faculty, staff, student leaders, friends, and peers are often the first people to notice when a student may be struggling. If you are concerned about a student, submitting a CARE referral helps our team assess the situation, reach out when appropriate, and connect the student with available resources and support.
Submit a CARE Referral
Submitting a referral to Babson CARES is a way for us to proactively identify students who may be experiencing a challenge or concern that is having an impact on their success or wellbeing here at Babson. If you are concerned about a student's well-being, we encourage you to reach out.
Emergency Situations on Campus
During an emergency, contact Public Safety by calling 781-239-5555 at any time. They will respond promptly and provide immediate help and support. After speaking with public safety, fill out a CARE referral.

Helpful information might include:
- What you observed or experienced that raised concern

Every referral is reviewed by Babson CARES during normal business hours. A member of our team will reach out to you personally to confirm receipt of your referral and can serve as a general resource to you should you have any questions or further concerns.
Depending on the situation, our team may:
- Gather additional information
- Reach out to the student
- Connect the student with campus resources
- Consult with appropriate campus partners
- Determine that no further intervention is needed at this time
Please know that CARES is limited in the information we are able to share to the reporting party about our work with individual students due to our need to respect student privacy.
Yes, referrals may be submitted anonymously.
However, when appropriate, we encourage you to inform the student that you are submitting a referral on their behalf to help connect them to additional support. We value transparency and, whenever possible, prefer that students know why they've been referred them to our team.
Regardless of whether a referral is submitted anonymously, all concerns are reviewed with discretion and handled in accordance with students' rights to privacy.
